Description

The 87 Surface Light collection is designed to be composed and arranged in creative groupings. The mounting plates are designed to be installed on walls. The lamps are carefully composed to create an overall ambiance that enhances the beauty and uniqueness of each piece.

In the 87 creation process soda water is utilized to capture air in a glass matrix that is superheated and stretched vertically between pegs numerous times. During the cooling of the glass, the act of folding it in the direction of the loop's grain causes the trapped air to transform into tiny filaments, resulting in a pearlescent optical effect. The collection includes: Random, Swag and Surface Lights.

Bocci is a design and manufacturing company based in Vancouver and Berlin. Omer Arbel cultivates a fluid position, between the fields of architecture, sculpture and design. Founded in 2005 its focal themes include the exploration of light as a medium.
