Linteloo was founded in 1994 by Jan te Lintelo and Lars Nikolajsen, it emerged from a shared passion for luxury and comfort. Jan des Bouvrie (1942-2020) was known for clever use of white in Dutch design. Born into a family of furniture retailers, Jan attended the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. In 1993, Jan and his wife Monique set up Het Arsenaal, an interior store that also served as Jan's studio.
