Description

Kasthall creates tufted rugs since 1972. This production method provides a wide range of artistic possibilities for detailed patterns, styles and effects. Kasthall hand-tufted rugs are created with strands of wool or linen punched through the backing with a tufting tool. This process forms loops that are then sheared into various heights and patterns creating the rug's surface allowing for loads of variations in both feel and design. Kasthall presents a large collection of hand-tufted rugs made of high quality wool and linen.

Kasthall has been creating distinctive and modern woven and hand-tufted rugs for global floors since 1889. Their Design Studio engages in ongoing collaborations with top textile designers worldwide to craft high quality rugs, all manufactured in Kinna, Sweden, only with the finest materials. Operating across 30 countries, Kasthall showcases its products in showrooms located in Stockholm, Milan and New York.

Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg is known as the "Queen of Rugs", she held the position of Lead Designer at Kasthall for 28 years untill 2015 bringing to life some of Kasthall's most iconic collections, including Moss, Fogg, Häggå, and Tekla designs. Recognized for her unparalleled contributions, Gunilla obtained multiple prestigious design accolades, such as "Designer of the Year" by Elle Decoration in 2012, a testament to her exceptional vision and craftsmanship in the realm of rug design.
