Hans J. Wegner chose to use stainless steel in a durable and modern design,  upholstered in either leather or fabric, for his CH40.

The simple, tubular-steel design of the CH401 lounge chair proves that upholstered furniture does not need to be large or bulky. The design is not only aesthetically pleasing the CH401 lounge chair construction is also exceptionally durable for long-term use.

The CH401 lounge chair’s combined backrest and seat are upholstered in either fabric or leather. The Kastrup Series also includes sofas in different sizes.

Often referred to as the master of the chair, he has created almost 500 chairs in his lifetime, many of them considered masterpieces. He is considered one of the most creative among Danish furniture designers.
