Quilt by Kasthall is a hand-tufted rug in pure wool and linen that combines shapes and colors, resulting in the emergence of fresh shades. The rug draw ispiration by the superb works of designer icons Anna Albers, Sheila Hicks and the Boro textiles, a Japanese textile family of 19th century.

Backing material: polypropylene and recycled yarn

Pile material: approx 60% wool and 40% linen

Description

Kasthall creates tufted rugs since 1972. This production method provides a wide range of artistic possibilities for detailed patterns, styles and effects. Kasthall hand-tufted rugs are created with strands of wool or linen punched through the backing with a tufting tool. This process forms loops that are then sheared into various heights and patterns creating the rug's surface allowing for loads of variations in both feel and design. Kasthall presents a large collection of hand-tufted rugs made of high quality wool and linen.

Kasthall has been creating distinctive and modern woven and hand-tufted rugs for global floors since 1889. Their Design Studio engages in ongoing collaborations with top textile designers worldwide to craft high quality rugs, all manufactured in Kinna, Sweden, only with the finest materials. Operating across 30 countries, Kasthall showcases its products in showrooms located in Stockholm, Milan and New York.

Ellinor Eliasson
Ellinor Eliasson studied at The Swedish School of Textiles in Borås. She started at Kasthall as product and design department in 2015 and has since been part of many acclaimed design projects. Ellinor developed the Harvest concept: woven rugs made from residual yarn.
